“Optimized atomization – Reichert Holztechnik equips surface machines with an airmatic atomization optimization”: Under this headline, the following report on February 2, 2018 in the trade magazine "besser Lackieren"Here is the full text.
By using the "airmatic" atomization optimization developed by ensutec Products, many wood coating companies are improving the quality of their processes and saving on paint material and compressed air energy. The special three-stage process for atomization optimization is used in many areas of wood coating to further increase the coating quality.
Reichert Holztechnik GmbH & Co. KG has recently improved the material and energy efficiency of a Venjakob surface machine using this process. The company is a modern medium-sized business with 90 employees. Its customers include the international kitchen and bathroom furniture industry, trade fair and ship builders, architects and skilled tradesmen in interior design.
The painting specialist produces matt paint, high-gloss and structured surfaces. The atomization optimization is used in a "Venspray" booth in conjunction with an Airmix application technology from Graco. Four paint spray guns are installed in the booth. With the expansion, Reichert Holztechnik has reduced paint consumption by an average of 15-20%.
By increasing the application efficiency and the associated reduction in overspray, the service life of the dry filters in the paint booth was doubled. Working is more pleasant overall, reduces the health risks for employees and protects the system technology. With reduced downtimes and less cleaning effort, Reichert was able to further increase productivity.
In addition, the company has reduced compressed air consumption by 20-25% by adjusting the painting parameters to the effect of atomization optimization. The technology therefore makes a significant contribution in terms of material and energy efficiency within the framework of the energy management system in accordance with DIN EN ISO 50001 and the 31st BImSchV and the environmental management system ISO 14001.
Thanks to the “airmatic atomization optimization” systems that were further developed as part of a DBU grant, the results in terms of the savings in paint material and compressed air energy for complex multi-gun application systems can now be significantly increased again.
Atomization optimization can generally be used in automatic applications, e.g. in robot systems, surface machines and rotary spindle systems, as well as in manual application. Coaters benefit from significantly improved application efficiency. The amount of atomizing air and paint used can be significantly reduced through finer atomization and a visibly smoother paint finish.
In general, reducing static charges can also reduce contamination in the painting process and thus the amount of rework. The paint stretches better and produces a very good and even surface. The drying processes can be shortened by heating the compressed air, which can increase the capacity of the painting system. In addition, ensutec offers air conditioning, which can provide compressed air with an accuracy of one to two degrees due to constantly changing air volumes.
